History of Gallagher Corporation
At the cutting edge from the beginning…
The driving force behind the founding of Gallagher Corporation in 1965 was Richard (Dick) Gallagher, senior.
Before 1965, Dick had been a development chemist at E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company. His focus was building upon Otto Bayer’s 1937 discovery of polyurethane.
Dick was on the du Pont team that developed and commercialized castable urethane elastomers. These urethane elastomers were branded as “Adiprene”.
Dick recognized the number and variety of potential applications for polyurethane. His determination to commercialize polyurethane led to his departure from du Pont and the founding of Gallagher Corporation.
Gallagher Corporation remains at the forefront of polyurethane manufacturing. To stay ahead, we innovate and improve.
